Local SdCNHA Field Trip Grants encourage field trips which foster the study of land and water, local history, local heritage, local culture, archaeology, an understanding of place, and the shared natural and human resources of our heritage area.
WHAT WE FUND
We encourage field trips which foster:
– the study of land and water
– local history, local heritage, local culture,
– an understanding of place, and the natural and human resources that we use and conserve.
We do not fund recreational and athletic field trips, even if they occur at one of the listed locations.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
All K-12 schools that are located in the three counties of our heritage area including Alamosa, Conejos, and Costilla Counties qualify to submit an application to the Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area. One application per school, per grade level, per year will be accepted, regardless of the destination or purpose of the field trip. The board of directors for the Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area will make final award decisions based on completeness of the application, curriculum connection, and available funds.
